The International Medical Center provides international remote consultation services through a direct specialist access platform that the hospital has established with overseas medical institutions, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USA, and Mount Sinai Hospital, USA, as well as through third-party partner organizations that provide access to medical institutions and specialists in the United States and Japan.
Overseas specialists provide opinions on an existing diagnosis and treatment plan by remote video or in writing. The hospital collaborates with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USA; specialties available through this collaboration include neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedics and sports medicine, gastroenterology, and oncology. Specialists from other medical institutions in the United States and Japan are also available through third-party partner organizations.
The consultation can draw on specialists from hospital departments including gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, cardiology, geriatric medicine, oncology, urology, cardiac surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, hepatobiliary surgery, and radiation oncology. The specific departments involved depend on the overseas specialists available and the relevant hospital departments. The hospital’s clinical specialist team oversees the remote consultation throughout, and where the hospital is assessed as able to carry out the treatment plan, treatment takes place at the hospital.
Following assessment through international remote consultation, patients who wish to seek treatment overseas and who meet the admission requirements of the receiving overseas medical institution can be assisted, through third-party partner organizations, in arranging treatment in the United States or Japan. Services include medical record translation, appointment scheduling, appointment letters required for visa applications, and accompaniment and interpretation during medical visits.
Remote consultations take place in a dedicated consultation room, with priority scheduling of required examinations (except emergencies) and one-stop service throughout the process. For details, please contact the International Medical Center.
